Ingredients

  • 2 ounces hot water ideally 175°F
  • 6 ounces additional hot water or steamed milk of choice such as almond, oat, coconut, or dairy milk
  • ¼ teaspoon matcha powder
  • Maple syrup honey, or another sweetener (optional)

Instructions

  • To ensure a smooth texture, sift the matcha powder into a small bowl or mug, removing any clumps that may affect the consistency.
  • Pour in 2 ounces of hot water, heated to approximately 175°F. Using a traditional bamboo matcha whisk or a small regular whisk, briskly whisk in a rapid side-to-side motion until the matcha fully dissolves, creating a thin, foamy layer on the surface.
  • Add the remaining 6 ounces of hot water or your preferred steamed milk, blending thoroughly until the mixture becomes frothy and well incorporated. If desired, stir in a touch of maple syrup, honey, or another sweetener to enhance the flavor. Serve immediately while warm.
