Ingredients

  • 3 cups filtered water
  • cups fresh coarsely ground coffee*
  • Milk or plant-based milk optional, for serving

Instructions

  • In a 28-ounce mason jar or a similar container, add the coarsely ground coffee. Pour in the filtered water and stir thoroughly to ensure all the grounds are saturated. Cover the jar and let it steep at room temperature for a duration of 12 to 24 hours, allowing the flavors to fully develop.
  • After steeping, position a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl and line it with a piece of cheesecloth. Slowly pour the brewed coffee through the strainer, allowing the liquid to separate from the coffee grounds. Transfer the filtered cold brew into a clean jar or airtight container and store it in the refrigerator.

Notes

For the best flavor, use freshly ground coffee for cold brew. Pre-ground coffee tends to lose its freshness and can result in a duller taste.
