In a 28-ounce mason jar or a similar container, add the coarsely ground coffee. Pour in the filtered water and stir thoroughly to ensure all the grounds are saturated. Cover the jar and let it steep at room temperature for a duration of 12 to 24 hours, allowing the flavors to fully develop.
After steeping, position a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl and line it with a piece of cheesecloth.
